default picture editing app
is there a way to change the default picture editing app in windows xp pro?
if i choose 'close this program and open the image for editing' option in a picture folder, the program that opens up is paint ... which, let's face it, is not world renowned for its editing capabilities ;-) is there a setting i can alter to make the editing program (say) photoshop? many thanks in advance |

default picture editing app
Hi,
1. Right-click a file with the extension whose association you want to change, and then click Open With. 2. In the Open With dialog box, click the program where you want the file to open, or click Browse to locate the program that you want. 3. Select the Always use the selected program to open this kind of file check box. thanks man ... good advice. but it's only part way there for me. what i
wanted was to be able to open up the file in explorer (so i just get the picture), and then when i choose the option 'shut down this program and open picture in xx.xx' i wanted the xx tyo be (say) photoshop. the way you suggested has the photoshop open right from the get go ... hm hey but thatnks for the suggestion anyway, it shows that there will be a way to do this ... i think ;-) |
