Recently upgraded to xp from me. I was removing a
program and noticed that there are at least 15 window xp
hotfix (sp2) line items listed. Where did they come
from? Can I simply remove them? What can I do to
prevent the reoccurence?

Those are hotfixes provided by Windows Update. Depending on your Automatic
Update settings, you may have automatically downloaded and installed them
without realizing. Do not uninstall any of them unless you encounter a
problem with an installation.

They came from Microsoft. These are the security, and other,
updates to Windows you have installed.

You can, but it would be a very unwise thing to do. Doing would
would expose you once again to the security loopholes that they
closed.

Turn off automatic updates. But again, that would be a very
foolish thing to do. These help you, not hurt you.
