Hi all...
This question is in regards to the Windows XP license (EULA). My new computer (Sony Vaio RS420) came with no WinXP cd. It has a utility to recover the software and operating system (WinXP). I just need to make the DVD (it has a DVD writer). The HDD has 2 partitions (and one more hidden where the recovery stuff is). The c: partition is 13 GB and the d: is 90 GB. I would like to have a single partition but I don't have a Windows XP cd. The recovery disk will make thew same 2 partitions that the machine has from the factory. I have the key for WinXP. It is on a sticker in the back of the machine. The question: Can I use any WinXP cd with my key on my machine to make the HDD a single partition, legally ? I know MS won't come knocking on my door if I do but I'm interested to know if It is within my license's rights. It makes sense to me that I should, after all I did pay for one license, but I didn't read past page two in the EULA :-). Thanks |

On your system, you might find the files to make a setup CD though. |

The Sony Windows XP CD Key is more likely an OEM version, since Somy is
providing support and Recovery partition. Y. "Gary Tait" wrote in message ... On Wed, 24 Dec 2003 23:23:48 GMT, "Rodo" wrote: Hi all... This question is in regards to the Windows XP license (EULA).
