Norton Internet Security and Internet Explorer

After I installed Norton Internet Security 2004, Internet
Explorer won't work. I can only get cannot find server!
When I disable the firewall on Norton then it works just
fine. I have been on the Norton help site and have done
all all they have suggested but still cannot find server.
My ISP is DSL and I have Windows XP and Internet Explorer
6. HELP!!!!
