Hello,
I need to reformat my computer. However, I have lost or misplaced my original Windows XP Home edition SP2 CD. Do I have to buy another Windows XP Installation CD or is there another way I can reformat my computer? -- Annie |

Follow the prompts for your product. Eventually you get to phone numbers you can call to order replacement media. |

But reinstalling Windows after formatting the drive (which is what I assume you want to do) does require a CD. Do you have your product key? If so, you can use it with a CD borrowed from a friend, as long as it is Home Edition, is the same regarding OEM vs. Retail, and is the same regarding Full vs. Upgrade. If the borrowed CD doesn't match yours in any of those regards, your product key won't work with it. -- Ken Blake, Microsoft MVP - Windows Desktop Experience Please Reply to the Newsgroup |
