Default cablesonline.com WARNING

I ordered (two separate orders) a 2.5" IDE extension cable (male &
female connectors) from www.cablesonline.com (Atlantic ComputerTech, 95 Horton
Ave. Lynbrook, NY 11563). The first extension cable was not a "true"
extension. I didn't know there are more than one type! I decided to keep
this one (may have a use for it in future?) and order a "true" extension.

When I connected a 2.5" IDE HDD to the "true" extension, the computer
did not "see" the HDD!!! I connected the HDD without the extension, and
the computer could "see" the HDD.

It was when I used a 10X magnifier and a bright light that I noticed
that there are no "sleeve" (don't know if right term) contacts in every
"hole". The only contacts were at the end of each hole!!!!!!!!
The tips of every male pin would have to press against the back
of every hole in the female connector in order to make a good connection!

The first cable I ordered had exactly the same DEFECT.

I described the DEFECT in detail to the seller in an email, and said I
was returning both extensions for a refund.

I received a refund for the items, but I did NOT get a refund for
shipping charges, a total of $14.99 (not counting what it cost me to return
