SP2 Installed - More missing apps
I installed SP2 yesterday. Today I wanted to use Calc.exe and found
in C:\I386 instead of the path the desktop shortcut had been pointing to. I changed the shortcut path to point to Calc where it now is instead of where it was. Will this be a problem? Wordpad is also missing. When I click on the desktop icon for it I get a message: "The C:\I386\AUTOCHK.EXE application cannot be run in WIN32 mode." Seems the Wordpad desktop icon is pointing to a different app. I found Wordpad.exe in C:\Windows\ServicePackFiles\i386 and in C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\..... I created a new desktop icon pointing to the ServicePack path and it works OK. Can someone tell me in which directories these two apps belong after SP2 has been loaded? Thanks so much. Paul & Ken - are you there??? Cheers, Ann To email: replace 'REMOVE' with 'b' in email address. |

SP2 Installed - More missing apps
These two applications have not moved in SP2. On my Windows XP SP2s, they
are still in their original locations (as they were in XP original). My only guess is that your system may have a trojan virus, or some other spyware/hackware/malware, which is taking over these application. Y. "Ann B." wrote in message ... I installed SP2 yesterday.
